Hebden Bridge Open Gardens

I have said that I will open my garden again this year, as part of Hebden Bridge’s open cultural weekend on 7 – 9th July. This year it is being run on the same weekend as the Open Studios event. This is really good as it makes me do the gardening – no excuses!

First step was getting some wires up against the back wall (thanks Tony!) to pin the gooseberries to.

I first came across this idea in the apprentice garden at Quarry Bank Mill and the gooseberries seem to like it – lots of air around the berries.

The next was getting all the strawberries up off the ground into hanging baskets and away from the slugs. We seem to live next to the spawning ground for all West Yorkshire slugs

So much frogspawn in the garden pond this year, that there obviously wasn’t room for any more and the frogs had to lay on the side
